in their search for qualified employees. From County Criminal
Searches to Multi-State Data Base Searches, Social Security
Traces and Employment Verification, IntelliSense gets the
facts and assists Human Resources departments across the country
with important hiring decisions.
1. County Level Criminal Searches
IntelliSense conducts County Searches via the Internet and/or
hiring an independent contractor for all jurisdictions within
the United States.
- Felony and Misdemeanor convictions, deferred cases and
pending cases are reported (where allowed by state law).
- Turnaround time averages 24-48 hours for
clear records and 24-72 hours when criminal records are found.
2. Statewide Level Criminal Searches
IntelliSense conducts Statewide Searches via the Internet
and/or hiring an independent contractor for any jurisdictions
within the United States where a state central repository exists.
- Felony and Misdemeanor convictions, deferred cases and
pending cases are reported (where allowed by state law).
- IntelliSense Corporation currently recommends statewides in 22 states where we consider them thorough, timely, and cost efficient.
- Turnaround time averages 24-48 hours for no offenses and
24-72 hours when criminal records are found.

3. Multi-State Database Search Includes
32-State Sex Offender Registry
IntelliSense conducts Multi-State Database Searches (MSDS)
using:
- Multi-state Matrix databases consisting of Department
of Corrections information, multiple court repositories
and other compiled criminal record data for 40 states.
- Included within this search are sex offender registries
for 32 states.
- If a MSDS is utilized as an enhancement to live searches,
but on its own, is not FCRA compliant when used for employment purposes. It can decrease the hiring instances of individuals with
records from other states.
- FCRA Section 613.a.2 Public Records information for employment purposes.
Section 613(a)(2) - maintain strict procedures to insure that whenever public record information which is likely to have an adverse effect on a consumer's ability to obtain employment is reported it is complete and up to date. For purposes of this paragraph, items of public record relating to arrests indictments, convictions, suits, tax liens, and outstanding judgments shall be considered
up to date if the current public record status of the item at the time of the report is reported.
- Research is obtained online and turnaround time is instant.
- Specific details on information will be provided and
depend upon the search request.
4. Federal Court
Searches & Terrorist Lists
IntelliSense conducts federal criminal and civil record
information searches via online and turnaround time is instant.
- Each state is searched by district to determine whether
or not an individual has committed a crime at the federal
level.
5. International
Criminal Searches
IntelliSense currently conducts criminal background checks
in 76 countries.
- Necessary search requirements vary and depend on the
procedures the country has established.
- Turnaround time to conduct searches can vary from four
hours to four weeks depending on the country requirements.
- CANADA
- The search includes all provinces and territories
- Turnaround time is typically 4-24 hours.
- A signed Release and copy of photo ID required.
- MEXICO
- The price for a search will depend whether it's a search
by individual state or countrywide.
- PUERTO RICO
- Mother's maiden name required.
6. Social Security Trace
IntelliSense can conduct a Social Security Trace to verify
whether or not an applicant is using his/her personal social
security number. Additional fraud indicators are provided
including:
- A check to see if the Social Security Number has been
used by someone else.
- A check to see if the individual is deceased.
- A check to see if the number was issued by the Social
Security Administration.
- A trace also provides the ability to locate additional
addresses the candidate may not have reported.
- Information is obtained online from one of the three
major credit bureaus.
- In cases of a discrepancy, the Social Security Administration
is contacted for further verification.
7. Credit Bureau
Report
- Credit report will be obtained from one of the three
major credit bureaus.
8. Motor Vehicle Reports
- Residential and commercial driving records are obtained.
- Driving status and other infraction information are provided
for a minimum of the last three years.
- This information is available instantly online in 42 states.
9. Employment Verification
With IntelliSense, you have the option of verifying one of the following:
- A five-year year employment history, with up to three employers.
- A seven-year employment history, with up to five employers.
- A 10-year employment history, with up to seven employers.
- Any completed customized client questionnaire.
10. Education Verification
- IntelliSense will verify highest degree, within a 4-72
hour turnaround time. High school diploma, GED's and some universities may have mail-in requirements or time of year constraints that will add to turnaround time.
11. Professional
License Verification
- IntelliSense will verify a professional license with
any state or issuing agency.
- IntelliSense specializes in Department of Transportation (DOT) verifications.
12. Office of Inspector General (Medical
Review) Verification
Healthcare professional verification with OIG enables IntelliSense
to obtain records on medical licenses that have been reported
for suspension, revocation and/or any misconduct.
13. Workers' Compensation Search
MAY NOT BE AVAILABLE IN ALL STATES DUE TO INDIVIDUAL STATE
REGULATIONS
ADA guidelines state that once you issue a conditional job
offer, you can then review the workers' compensation records
to verify the information you received from the applicant.
The job offer can be rescinded for the following reasons:
when a medical professional determines that the applicant
is a threat to him or herself or others, the applicant is
unable to perform the essential functions of the job with
reasonable accommodations, and/or when the employer discovers
the applicant knowingly provided false answers to a lawful
post offer inquiry.

14. Drug Testing
IntelliSense is a Third-Party administrator for drug testing.
- IntelliSense provides urine, hair follicle, saliva (instant), DOT and non-DOT comprehensive drug testing programs.
- Medical Review Officer (MRO) services are included on all positive and negative results.
- Our drug testing can be integrated with the background screening process in order to effectively manage and retrieve results from one single source.
